We have changed how you book GP appointments

Any issue that needs a GP will be placed on a Clinical Assessment Screen.

The Health Navigators will ask some questions about your condition and needs and pass this on for GP review.

The GP will make an assessment on this information and decide if an appointment is needed and if so, what timeframe is most appropriate.  You will then be contacted by our Health Navigation Team with an outcome either by phone or text.

We still strongly encourage you to get in contact with us if you have any of the symptoms the NHS has advertised are of concern. Please make use of the NHS website to look up your symptoms and contact us if it advises you to do so.

Safe Surgeries

Everyone in the UK has the right to free care from a GP. If you don’t have proof of id or address, you can still register.

Immigration status or nationality don’t matter – reception won’t ask for immigration documents and wont share your information

Safe Surgeries

A Safe Surgery can be any GP practice which commits to taking steps to tackle the barriers faced by many migrants in accessing healthcare. At a minimum, this means declaring your practice a ‘Safe Surgery’ for everyone and ensuring that lack of ID or proof of address, immigration status or language are not barriers to patient registration.

Safe Surgeries recognise the barriers to healthcare access that exist, particularly for migrants in vulnerable circumstances, and believe that small changes in practice can make a difference. They are willing to lead by example and work to ensure that nobody in their community is excluded.

Green Impact

Charlotte Keel Medical Practice is delighted to be signed up to the Green Impact for Health Toolkit and is actively taking steps to reduce our carbon footprint. The climate emergency is also a health emergency, and health care in the UK contributes 4-5% of the UK's carbon emissions. We need to enhance the health of today’s population without compromising the health of future generations, and this means operating within the sustainable boundaries of the planet. Fortunately, most of the solutions for the planet also make our health better - for example helping people get more active, encouraging healthy diets with high plant content, avoiding smoking, reducing pollution, and increasing access to non-pharmaceutical treatment options such as nature groups. Greener Practice has more information about this.

We welcome feedback to help us improve things – please join our patient group if you would like to get involved
